Accelerating Non-Communicable Disease Prevention and Care for Every Child
Eli Lilly and Company and UNICEF
A healthy life begins with a healthy start.
That is why, since 2022, Eli Lilly and Company has supported UNICEF USA which enables UNICEF’s efforts to accelerate non-communicable disease (NCD) prevention and care for children and adolescents in resource-limited settings in Bangladesh, Malawi, Nepal,
the Philippines and Zimbabwe.
Thanks to Lilly’s support, UNICEF is reaching millions of children and caregivers, strengthening national health systems and training tens of thousands of health workers to better prevent, detect and treat childhood NCDs.
UNICEF has reached almost 16 million young people and caregivers … and counting.
What Are Non-Communicable Diseases?
Our Collaboration
“One of the major ways we address NCDs is through our Lilly 30x30 work — our corporate effort to improve access to quality health care for 30 million people living in resource-limited settings, each year, by 2030.
Our collaboration and support of UNICEF USA place children
at the center of the global agenda to address the NCD burden by
strengthening health care systems on the ground.
Every Lilly employee should be proud that, through this initiative,
we’ve changed the lives of millions.”

Making It Last
A Message from Kitty van der Heijden,
UNICEF Deputy Executive Director
"Millions of children are deprived of the building blocks necessary
for lifelong health due to non-communicable disease risk factors
established early in life. Our collaboration with Lilly
is leading the way to ensure children get a healthy start in life.
Through sustainable initiatives, we are accelerating NCD prevention and care in low- and middle-income countries. Our work demonstrates the impact that can be achieved when UNICEF and the private sector collaborate to drive results at scale.
Ensuring children have a healthy start begins with us all. UNICEF is calling on all sectors to join this work to give children a healthy start and the future they deserve.
Let’s make children’s health everyone’s business."
